Old Navy: Beach Bum Party from Crowdtap

Last night, along with 3 of my girlfriends and 1 handsome 3-year-old; thanks to Old Navy and Crowdtap we got to take part in the Old Navy Beach Bum Party. If you don't know what Crowdtap is, you can read about them and join at the bottom of the page.

I was lucky enough to be chosen once again to have an in-store party at Old Navy that gifts myself and some friends great Old Navy items. For this bash 3 friends and I got to choose 1 pair of sunglasses, 1 pair of flip-flops, a beach towel and a beach bag.

We started off at the flip-flop wall, they had such a wide-range of colors and sizes it made it a tough decion. Eventually we decided, until we saw another flip-flop wall!!! That changed the whole ballgame, there were flats, color-changing, sparkly, high-heeled, and flip-flops with various designs. We tried on different styles, heights and colors for what seemed like an hour!

Decisions, decisions
Next we moved onto the beach bags. Old Navy had all sorts of bags in various styles and paterns. Unbelievably enough we all decided on the Crossbody Bag the others we really liked were the Straw Weaved Tote and the Canvas Beach Totes. The pockets inside the bags were about the perfect size for sunscreen and a water bottle!

Post beach bags we moved onto the beach towels. There wasn't much of a selection left in my store, but what was there were cute so I didn't mind (of course they were free anyways so who am I to complain)! I went with the flip-flop beach towel. Love how colorful it is, and super soft!

Loving the Flip-Flop Beach Towel

Last, but not least one of the most important summer accessories... sunglasses! We had so much fun trying on sunglasses. We actually all found our favorite pair on the first try, but just kept trying them on for the fun of it.

We had a blast at the bash! Unfortunately, after doing some additional recreational shopping it came time to check-out. We had some issues at checkout with the store manager who seemed to be questioning the legitimacy of my coupons for the free items. He then began picking apart everything we bought and telling us if the coupon was real we weren't allowed to buy anything but basic flip-flops, sunglasses that they no longer had in stock, and the Crossbody bags (which all 4 of us chose) weren't included either. After lots of debate and a call to 1-800-Old-Navy 3 of the 4 of us walked out without any sunglasses and the other gal (who checked out a little earlier then the rest of us) didn't have any problems buying her Crossbody Bag.

I've never had an issue with my Old Navy & Crowdtap in-store parties before. We had to pick 3 different bags before we all eventually got a bag that worked, 2 different pairs of sunglasses (still didn't find a pair to work), and 2 pairs of flip-flops. The previous parties went off without a hitch, but the manager that is usually there unfortunately wasn't there. You can read about one of my past experiences here. We eventually got checked out with all of our stuff and headed out for dinner.

We had an amazing supper and I think I came back home glowing! Such a short little 4-hour time out shopping and dining with the ladies and I felt like I'd been relaxing at a spa for a week. Even though we had issues at checkout we had so much fun and felt very fortunate to be able to have that experiance. Thanks again to Old Navy and Crowdtap!!!

Here's a little video/slideshow of some of the pictures from our party. Once again, we had a blast!
