How to Save Money Online

Here are some of my favorite ways to save online. Almost eveyone with a computer and internet makes a purchase online eventually... you may as well save money doing it.

Mr. Rebates
This site gives you cashback on your online purchases. I shop online alot and have only found 1 or 2 sites that aren't included in their cashback program. There are a few sites like this out there, but this always seems to have the best cashback rate.
In addition, the site also lists available online coupon codes for the sites you are visting to save you additional cash!

It Is Extremly Easy to Use:
  • Head over to Mr. Rebates
  • Search for the store you are looking for (example: The Children's Place)
  • After your search there will be a page that shows you the casback percentage & any available coupons (free shipping, percentage off, etc)
  • Click on the store name to take you to their site
  • Shop as normal
  • Watch your savings grow!!!

Amazon Mom and Subscribe & Save
Why was my daughters closet filled with diapers before she was even born? Because I got an amazing deal on them from Amazon. They have a program called Amazon Mom which gives you 15% off your diaper order, as well as FREE 2-day shipping.

These are stacked 2 deep and this picture was taken after we'd used a few boxes.

Amazon in addition has an option called Subscribe & Save. The idea is you will set up how often you'd like the item delivered automatically to your door. If you choose to add Subscribe and Save to your diaper order, they will take an additional 15% off your order. Subscribe and save is also available for 15% off your cereal, laundry detergent, toilet paper, and lots of other items.

If you combine both Amazon Mom as well as Subscribe & Save, you've just taken 30% off your package of diapers, baby wipes, or other eligible items. If you aren't interested in actually having theitem shipped to you on a schedule, you can EASILY cancel your subscription as soon as the item arrives (I usually pick a 6-month subscription schedule, then cancel after it's shipped).

If 30% isn't enough to convince you, add in a free subscription to American Baby, and Baby Talk magazines. Occasionally Amazon will put coupons in their magazines (as well as Parenting and Fit Pregnancy) for either $10 off diapers, or 20% off a diaper order. If you're still doing the math, that makes 50% off (or more with the $10 off coupon) a box of diapers!

As amazing as this deal is... it can still get sweeter! How? Read on about FREE gift cards to Amazon that you can put toward anything; including your diapers by using Swagbucks - I'll discuss that in the next section.

Swagbucks is a search engine that rewards you for searching the internet. At random, during a search you may win "SwagBucks" you collect them in your account and redeem them for prizes. When you open an account, you automatically get rewarded 30 - 80 (depends on the promo) Swagbucks that are deposited into your account.

My favorite item to get, by far is the $5 Amazon gift card. I've been using Swagbucks for almost a year and gotten $275 in free money to Amazon in that time. The gift cards that I've gotten by searching on Swagbucks, paired with Amazon Subscribe & Save and Amazon Mom (mentioned  above) got me almost all of the diapers pictured in the closet above FREE. I also purchased lots of presents for Christmas and birthdays online using my Amazon gift cards. That saved a lot of money out of pocket. You can sign-up for Swagbucks if you are interested here.
